THANK YOU MR. SHEEHAN

Mr. Sheehan I just want to say that you have probably been the best teacher I have had in high school! You are the first teacher to understand that I can't really express my ideas very well and that  has tried to help me with that. Although I only had you for a teacher for such a short period, I still appreciate the fact that I  at least was able to have you as  a teacher. I will take the skills that you have taught me and apply them. Class just won't be the same without you! Now who is gonna make fun of my walk!

Thanks again!

Let the People Decide

Abortion. Its been quite a heated debate that has been a problem in our society for many years now. This has been an issue since the court case Roe vs. Wade in 1973. We obviously hope that the government can resolve this issue in the near future but like most intense topics the government has no answer.

The Abortion debate comes down to one question: Does the government have the authority to ban pregnant women the right to terminate their pregnancy? No. Flat out NO. The government doesn't have this authority for several reasons.

First of all, most people who are against abortion will never even become pregnant. Most  of the politicians in the U.S. government are men. Therefore men make most of the decision about the law. It doesn't seem quite appropriate for men to make a decision on something that they don't even experience! C'mon now! Men don't have the authority to decided whether or not abortion is illegal or not.

Let's also not forget. If and when the government chooses to make a law against abortion it doesn't completely take abortion out of the picture. It makes the abortion situation less safe and even more dangerous. Making abortion illegal or legal has no effect on the total number of abortions in the U.S. As a result the same number of women seeking an abortion are forced to take an alternate route usually dealing with an unsafe abortion. Now what the government should do is let women decide whether or not they feel abortion is neccesary. The U.S. government had tried this with slavery allowing people in certain district to decide whether they thought slavery was constitutional or not, which was also known as popular sovereignty. Although it was not successful it was one of the first times the government gave power to the people directly. The same thought process should be enabled for abortion

Lastly, and most importantly, why do we even let the government to make medical recommendations and opinion. They are not the people cut out for that; it is instead the doctors who are the ones that should be deliberating on this issue. First and foremost, you would not allow the government to tell you whether or not you could get a kidney transplant or a blood transfusion. So why is there a distinction made between abortion. It is honestly illogical and foolish to let the government weigh in on such an extensive medical procedure. Think about it. Most doctors have been through lengthy years of medical schooling, so I think it is safe to say that they are qualified to make a decision in this field. Most politicians on the other hand have been though lengthy years of law school, so it doesn't quite make sense for the government to all of sudden be able to make a decision that it is not even in their field.

Bottom Line is that the government doesn't have the authority to make a decision on whether or not abortion is constitutional or not and is not educated enough in the medical field to be trusted to make such a decision.

Not Just any old Monday

We are honestly so lucky to have so many brave people who risk their lives to protect us! The only reason we live such a good life is because of them and they should be both honored and respected for that. Today is not just a day of from school. Its a day in which we can appreciate and celebrate all the things veterans do for us

Tragedy in Phillipines

Ah its fascinating sometimes how we lose sight of how big our world really is! Sometimes we just become situated in our narrow world that we forget the rest of the world. We are only concerned about our own tiny problems like "not getting a text from that cute guy" or "not getting what you wanted for christmas" and are completely oblivious to the bigger problems in the world.

If you didn't know already, the typhoon in the Phillipines has affected many of the local families. It is estimated death toll has risen to almost 10,000. I hope all those who have passed in such a tragic fashion rest in peace.

Flifferhuzza

What is a flifferhuzza you ask? WHY IT IS ONLY THE MOST INTERESTING BIRD IN THE WORLD! It has some key features that sets itself apart from the other birds in the bird community.
Let's start off with the basics. It is most often found in the Himalayan Mountain Range. It has a blue and red feathers all around, yellow eyes, and green talons. This bird is very unique in the colors it posseses but what's even more unique is that this bird has a purple 5 foot beak. You may be thinking that this is just a long purple beak but the key thing to note is that this beak is capable of smelling its prey 100 feet away. The prey of this animal which include, snakes, rats. and tigers, don't stand chance against this vicious predator because the flifferhuzza is able to lead a suprise attack against its prey, leaving no chance of defense for the prey
One of the most incredible things about this bird is its wingspan is one that is unheard of. It has a 35 foot wingspan, the first of its kind! Other birds don't even come close! Of the 10,000 species of birds on Earth, the longest wingspan of any other bird is the golden eagle which has a wingspan of about 8.2 feet.
The two most important things to understand about this bird is their long lifespan and their growing population. The lifespan of the flifferhuzza is about 200 bird years which is about 50 human years, which is pretty impressive considering the average lifespan of a bird is about 17 years! That is pretty amazing for a bird! Its also quite interesting that in 2000,  the population of these birds was a hundred. Today there are about 10 million fluffer huzza in the world!
Evidently, this is not just your average bird flying around. This is a "superbird" that is defying the laws of nature. A bird should never be that big and should not be able to reproduce this quickly. However life has found a way to make them accepted into the world!
The problem is that with these staggering statistics and their keen body features. The flifferhuzza could become the dominant population! Just another thing to add to the list of the things that can take over the planet....
